He is also a former broadcaster of 20 years with the Chicago Cubs, and a current color commentator for the Chicago White Sox. He has been awarded three Emmys.
He lives in Chicago. Few in Chicago sports history have been as beloved on both the North and South Sides of the baseball-crazy city as Steve Stone--a privilege that made no small contribution to the incredible stories shared in this fun baseball exploration led by the man himself. Part anecdote and part analysis, the book shares the unique slant of the American League Cy Young Award-winning pitcher and fan-favorite broadcaster on the game that has been his passion for nearly five decades.
He starts by analyzing the game position by position; illustrating his points with personal experiences and the players he has either played with or covered. What he hasn't seen, his broadcast partner of 15 years, Harry Caray, probably had, and he shares plenty of funny stories about their years together in the booth as well. Finally he takes a serious look at how the game has changed and what the future holds for America's pastime. Read more Read less. Steve Stone has spent most of his life envolved in the game of baseball. Stone is considered to have one of the best baseball minds in the business, and he shares his insights in the book "Said In Stone: Your Game, My Way". The book contains chapters on every position on a baseball diamond. For each position Stone goes into detail on what is required for success.
In each chapter Stone points out things that even long-time baseball fans would overlook or take for granted. Humorous stories from Stone's playing career are also included, usually to prove a point that Stone is trying to make. The wealth of inside knowledge that is in this book, and the ability of the author to explain it in a manner that fans can understand, shows why Stone is one of the best baseball broadcasters working today.
This is not a "Moneyball" or stat-obsessed book.
It took the Witcher series to a height of success it had never seen before, making it's scarred, white-haired hero Geralt a bit of a star. Heck, he's even getting a Witcher Netflix series. For Witcher 3 one of the best RPG games of all time , it gave us 16 free downloadable content packages with the hour expansion, Hearts of Stone in October and then the beefier second expansion, Blood and Wine, in May Because of all that, some may say that The Witcher 4 is inevitable.
But is it? The team was particularly vocal around the launch of the Blood and Wine expansion in the first half of This is the end. We invested 15 years of our lives in it and a lot of money. But please consider us as rational people, we sometimes have weird ideas but overall our thinking is very rational. We have full rights to The Witcher games.
They are ours. The team is currently working on Cyberpunk , which is due out sometime after But CD Projekt Red is also working on another game scheduled for release sometime between and Ok then. Whatever ending you get Geralt is facing the rest of his days in retirement. That's something that the developers have backed up too. Speaking to Polygon during a tech demo back in , executive producer John Mamais said that The Witcher 3 was Geralt's last story, but that wouldn't stop him from a cameo or two in the future.
